Exploring CBRN & Security Opportunities in Iceland
Last week Bertin Environics’ Director, Business Development, Ahti Luukkonen, was part of the Team Finland network that organized a business delegation visit to Iceland on 15–17 September 2026. The delegation, held in the Reykjavík area, was led by Ville Cantell, Ambassador of Finland to Iceland.

Organized in cooperation with Business Iceland, the visit brought together Finnish and Icelandic companies and stakeholders from the dual-use and defence sectors. The programme provided opportunities to meet local companies and authorities, exchange expertise and gain a better understanding of Iceland’s evolving security and resilience needs.
For Bertin Environics, the visit provided an opportunity to explore the potential for CBRN detection, monitoring and preparedness solutions in Iceland. Discussions also highlighted the importance of civilian resilience, training and exercises, critical infrastructure protection and interoperability within Nordic and NATO frameworks.
As Iceland continues to strengthen its preparedness and security capabilities, cooperation between Finnish and Icelandic organisations can support the development of solutions suited to the country’s specific operational environment.
Participation in the Team Finland delegation further supports Bertin Environics’ international business development activities and its commitment to strengthening cooperation in CBRN safety and security.
