In mid-October 2025, a hazardous materials incident occurred near the village of Rosava in Ukraine’s Kyiv region, where a tanker transporting nitric acid developed a leak, releasing approximately one cubic meter of the chemical onto the roadway.
Responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (ДСНС) swiftly mobilized to contain and neutralize the spill. Specialized chemical protection and rapid response teams transferred the acid into a secure container and treated the affected area to prevent environmental damage. Monitoring confirmed that no risk remained for the surrounding population.

During the operation, emergency crews used the ChemProX handheld chemical detector, ensuring fast and accurate detection of residual vapors throughout the containment process.
