Biological Detection Systems
Building upon its success stories in chemical agent detection, Environics has broadened its product range with solutions for BWA detection in 2006. ENVI Assay System provides the military and civil defence with immunochromatographic rapid tests for easy-to-use biothreat detection in the field and in the laboratory. The Ricin Toxin Test is the first member of this product family, followed by tests for Botulinum toxin and Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B by the end of 2006.
ChemPro100 is no longer only a chemical detector - connect a portable plug-and-play Reader Module to it and a hand-held system for simultaneous chemical and biological detection is ready for use. The ChemPro Reader Module analyses immunoassay based rapid tests even in 10 seconds, adding reliability to determination of test results. The ENVI Assay System and RAMP test cartridges are the present reader compatible biodefence test formats.
The Environics bioproduct portfolio also includes products from other manufacturers in the field. We act as a distributor for RAMP® Biodetection System of Response Biomedical Corporation consisting of a biodefence reader and test kits for Anthrax, Ricin, Botulinum Toxin and Pox viruses. On top of that, Environics represents biothreat identification products based on PCR technology from Idaho Technology Inc. In the design of Bio100, a continuously-operating biological sensor used in Enviscreen Monitoring System, we co-operate with ICX MesoSystems.
