Bio100 Early Warning System The Bio100 EWS is a continuously operating sensor designed to detect potentially harmful airborne biological agent releases. It operates as an early warning detector and is a key component of the EnviScreen CBRN (Chemical, Biological and Radiological/Nuclear) Monitoring System for high level of situational awareness and real-time consequence and emergency management. The Bio100 EWS detects changes in concentration of active airborne biological particles with a diameter range of 1 to 10 microns including bacterial spores (e.g. B. anthracis), bacteria (e.g.Y. pestis), viruses (e.g. smallpox) and toxins (e.g. ricin). The device utilizes UV LED to collect fluorescence data and an optical particle counter to collect count and size data of airborne particulates, and all that information is assessed to provide a confirmatory alert. Response time can be adjusted from 30 seconds to 10 minutes depending on sensitivity required. Collection of a secondary sample for laboratory confirmation analysis is automatically initiated, when elevated levels of biological material are detected. The Bio100 EWS is designed for personnel and property protection applications, including indoor air monitoring, area monitoring systems, building and subway safety systems, naval applications, reconnaissance and monitoring vehicles and mobile systems. The device requires no consumables for monitoring, and complete self-diagnostic system identifies needs for service and maintenance. Affordable price and reasonable operating costs make Bio100 EWS a cost-effective and economical biological detection approach. |
